Our name reflects both the method and the mindset behind our work.
Spelling — Because we use letters as the gateway to communication.
Forward — Because every letter spelled is a step toward connection, confidence, and independence.
Our promise is simple: we meet each individual where they are and move forward together.

About Alyssa Dennis, S2C Practitioner
I’m Alyssa Dennis, a Kamloops mom with over 19 years of experience on the autism journey with my amazing son, Cash. I understand the fear that comes when hope feels out of reach.
For years, we tried different approaches that never quite connected, and it was heartbreaking to watch my son’s potential go unseen. When our family discovered Spelling to Communicate (S2C), everything changed. What once felt impossible became real. Through practice and hard work, alongside his S2C practitioner, Brittney from Vocal Vista, Cash finally had a way to connect! I saw my son’s intelligence, humor, and insight shine through.
That experience lit a fire in me. I wanted to share our story, advocate for others like Cash, and support families who are searching for a path forward. S2C has completely transformed our world, and it’s my mission to help make this life-changing method more accessible.
I’ve experienced every emotion along the way: the grief, the frustration, the guilt, and the overwhelming pride that comes when your child finally gets the chance to be heard. That’s why this work is more than a profession to me, it’s personal.
Today, I’m a Certified S2C Practitioner, trained through the International Association for Spelling as Communication (I-ASC). My passion for this work comes from a deep belief that communication is a human right.
When I’m not working with spellers and families, you’ll find me at the soccer field cheering on my incredible daughter Ella, hiking with Cash, Derek and Bear or spending time with family and friends ~ always learning, always moving forward.

I’m honored to work with students aged six and up who are nonspeaking, minimally speaking, or unreliable speakers with autism or other neurodiverse challenges.
My approach is rooted in respect, patience, and partnership. Recognizing that every nonspeaker already has a rich inner life, intelligence, and personality waiting to be expressed.
Together, we build communication one letter, one moment, one victory at a time.
S2C is more than spelling words. It’s about connection, empowerment, and dignity. Giving every individual the tools to be heard and understood.
